WORLD SERIES HEAT WAVE: Red Flag Warnings In Effect

If you think the Dodgers have been hot this post-season, you should check out the forecast for the World Series! Record temperatures have triggered an Excessive Heat Warning for Game One in Los Angeles on Tuesday, and hot temperatures are expected to extend into Wednesday for Game Two. If you're lucky enough to have tickets to the games, the City of Los Angeles urges you to be heat safe so you can enjoy the game from the stadium -- not the back of an ambulance.

Here are our tips for World Series heat safety:

  • Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water! Avoid caffeine and alcohol (yes, even those frozen beers at the stadium) as they can dehydrate you even more.
  • Seek shade when possible, especially if you feel yourself overheating.
  • Wear sunblock and a hat to protect yourself from the sun.
  • Sign up for emergency alerts from the City of Los Angeles. Text READY to 888-777 to instantly register your cell phone.
