Older adults, those 65 or more, are at a higher risk for developing serious illness from COVID-19. This means it is critical to make sure our seniors, caregivers and those with disabilities, have the most up to date information on resources and assistance.

The City of Los Angeles Department on Aging has compiled an excellent resource page for older adults and those who are living with them or caring for them, including those with disabilities.

Resources include meal and grocery deliveries, in-home care, mental health services, ride services, financial assistance and much more.

The information can be found here: https://aging.lacity.org/blog/covid-19-updates.

Experts often note that one of the greatest obstacles to gaining the services and care people need, is not having the right information. So please do what you can to make sure that the older adults and disabled people in your life know that there are ways to get help and assistance during this difficult time.

And remember that the best way to show we care is to double our efforts to physically distance, wear a cloth mask and stay at home as much as possible in the days ahead.

We are in this together and we will get through this together too.
